Blog Portfolio

This course was probably the one course that I learned a spectrum of material, ranging from globalization to how to use the library.  The purpose of this particular post is to discuss my learning process throughout the course of the semester.  I think that overall,  I learned many things that I can now apply to my other classes, which was just an added bonus to learning about globalization.

The blogs that I tagged for this portfolio basically all had the same themes of culture and big issues encompassing globalization.  Culture has always interested me, especially because I have been lucky enough to have been exposed to many cultures throughout my life. I was a bit bummed that our class did not spend more time focusing on the cultural aspect of globalization, but I believe through the expert study and my blogs I fulfilled a bit of that.   I think that my blogs were mostly about culture and related issues because this is what what captivates me most.  Its interesting how cultures interact with eachother and the different kinds of culture in general, therefore, when having to write blogs I decided to write what most interested me.

The expert study that I mentioned above and as a blog, helped me greatly I would say in the areas of research and putting together a research paper. In high school, I did have two big research papers, but compared to college papers going about it is a bit different.  Ms. Jones was a great help when it came to researching, and I was very lucky that my first college research paper was in this class.

I feel that overall I have grown from this class.  I was lucky to experience a classroom sessions where most of our learning took place from eachother, through discussions that encouraged critical thinking and listening to others opinions.  The freshman seminar was a different and interesting experience that enabled me to think in different perspectives and how to better my technological skills.
